Red Hat und AWS erweitern strategische Partnerschaft

Red Hat, der weltweit führende Anbieter von Open-Source-Lösungen, und Amazon Web Services (AWS), ein Amazon.com-Unternehmen und der weltweit führende Cloud-Computing-Provider, erweitern ihre strategische Partnerschaft. Kernelement der ausgebauten Kooperation ist der direkte, native Zugriff auf die AWS-Services über Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform. Damit können Unternehmen die Vorteile der weltweit umfassendsten und verbreitetsten Cloud nutzen, wenn sie Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform auf AWS oder in einer On-Premise-Umgebung einsetzen. Konkret steht Anwendern dadurch eine große Bandbreite von AWS-Services wie Amazon Aurora, Amazon Redshift, Amazon EMR, Amazon Athena, Amazon CloudFront, Amazon Route 53 oder Elastic Load Balancing zur Verfügung, die sie mit wenigen Klicks direkt aus der Konsole von Red Hat OpenShift nahtlos konfigurieren und bereitstellen können. Bereits seit 2008 arbeiten Red Hat und AWS an der Optimierung des Einsatzes von Red Hat Enterprise Linux auf AWS. Zehntausende Anwender aus unterschiedlichsten Branchen nutzen inzwischen unternehmenskritische Anwendungen – wie SAP-Applikationen, Oracle-Datenbanken oder Analytics-Lösungen – auf Red Hat Enterprise Linux und AWS. Da Unternehmen Applikationen zunehmend in Containern bereitstellen, ist auch die Nachfrage nach einem nahtlosen Deployment und Management von Containern, die auf Red Hat OpenShift basieren, auf AWS gestiegen. Die erweiterte Partnerschaft gibt Anwendern nun die Möglichkeit, Container-basierte Unternehmensapplikationen mit Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform unter Verwendung von AWS-Services wie Datenverarbeitung, Datenbanken, Analytik, Maschinelles Lernen, Netzwerk oder Mobile einfach aufzubauen und zu erweitern. Nutzer der Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform können damit agiler sein, da sie dieselbe Applikationsentwicklungsplattform On-Premise oder in der Cloud verwenden können. Red Hat und AWS arbeiten auch eng zusammen, um Anwendern einen einzigen Support-Kontakt anbieten zu können.

Darüber hinaus kooperieren Red Hat und AWS, um neue AWS-Services kurzfristig auf Red Hat Enterprise Linux bereitzustellen. Durch die enge Abstimmung hinsichtlich Entwicklung und Release-Daten stehen AWS-Innovationen Unternehmen, die Workloads unter Verwendung von Red Hat Enterprise Linux auf AWS migriert oder neu aufgebaut haben, schneller zur Verfügung.

AWS und Red Hat werden zudem weiterhin die gesamte Lösungssuite von Red Hat JBoss Middleware als voll unterstützte Services auf AWS anbieten, und damit Anwendern die Nutzung von Red Hat JBoss Middleware als containerisierte Applikationskomponenten mit der Funktionalität, Elastizität und Sicherheit ermöglichen, die sie von AWS erwarten. Um die Performance der Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform auf AWS weiter zu verbessern, werden die beiden Unternehmen auch an einer stärkeren Integration von AWS und der Container-Orchestrierungsplattform Kubernetes arbeiten, die Red Hat OpenShift nutzt.

Verfügbarkeit

Integrationen von Red Hat und AWS werden auf dem Red Hat Summit 2017 in Boston vorgestellt. Ein direkter Zugriff auf AWS-Services über die Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform soll ab Herbst 2017 verfügbar sein. Red Hat Enterprise Linux ist erhältlich für AWS über Red Hat Cloud Access oder On-Demand. Red Hat JBoss Middleware auf OpenShift ist verfügbar für AWS über Red Hat Cloud Access.
