Cisco und Red Hat präsentieren Integrated Infrastructure for OpenStack

Cisco (NYSE: CSCO) und Red Hat (NYSE: RHT) haben heute eine neue, integrierte Infrastrukturlösung für OpenStack-basierte Cloud-Implementierungen angekündigt. Darüber hinaus vertiefen beide Unternehmen ihre Geschäftsbeziehungen und verstärken die Kooperation rund um OpenStack, die Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure sowie die Cisco Intercloud.

Cisco ist Marktführer bei integrierten Infrastrukturen – einem schnell wachsenden Marktsegment, das Server, Netzwerkkomponenten, Storage und Managementsoftware umfasst. Zielgruppe der neuen Cisco UCS integrierten Infrastrukturlösungen sind große und mittelständische Unternehmen. Die Lösungen vereinfachen die Implementierung sowie den Betrieb von OpenStack-basierten Private Clouds und bieten einen Einstieg in die Intercloud. Die Cisco UCS Integrated Infrastructure für die Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform (UCSO) kombiniert Cisco Unified Computing (UCS), Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI) und die Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform.

Integrated Infrastructure for OpenStack

  • Das Lösungsportfolio der Cisco UCS Integrated Infrastructure liefert die zentralen Bausteine für den Aufbau von Private, Public und Hybrid Clouds. Die Architektur kombiniert die UCS Server mit Nexus Switching, UCS Director Management und Storagekapazitäten und ermöglicht so eine vereinfachte Implementierung von Applikationen und Cloud-Services.
     
  • Die UCSO-Lösung soll aus drei Paketen bestehen: die Starter Edition ermöglicht eine schnelle und einfache Installation von Enterprise Private Clouds; die Advanced Edition eignet sich für eine rasche Bereitstellung und den Betrieb umfangreicher Private Clouds; die Advanced ACI Edition ist für den Aufbau und den Betrieb strategischer Cloud-Plattformen auf Basis von Cisco ACI gedacht.
     
  • Zusätzlich zum 24x7-Support für die Komponenten von Cisco und Red Hat können sich Kunden auch für einen erweiterten Solution Support entscheiden, der einen Rund-um-die-Uhr-Zugriff auf ein gemeinsam geschultes Expertenteam bietet.
     
  • Die UCSO Starter Edition soll Ende 2014 allgemein verfügbar sein. Qualifizierte Channelpartner und die Cisco Cloud Consulting Services unterstützen Unternehmen bei der Implementierung der Lösungen.
     

Ausbau der Partnerschaft

  • Auf Basis der erfolgreichen Kooperation in den Bereichen Unified Computing und Networking werden Cisco und Red Hat ihre Kooperation jetzt auf drei weitere Gebiete ausdehnen: OpenStack, Application Centric Infrastructure und Intercloud. Beide Unternehmen wollen dazu gemeinsame Intercloud-Lösungen entwickeln, um den Einsatz von OpenStack in Unternehmen und bei Service-Providern zu vereinfachen.
     
  • OpenStack: Cisco und Red Hat arbeiten bei der Entwicklung vollständig unterstützter, zertifizierter Plattformen zusammen, die Open-Source-Innovation und eine optimierte Funktionalität bieten. Beide Unternehmen wollen gemeinsam validierte Architekturen bereitstellen, ein Third-Party ISV- und IHV-Ecosystem aufbauen, die Governance zwischen Clouds sicherstellen sowie Advanced Services für das Lifecycle-Management von Cloud-Lösungen anbieten.
     
  • Application Centric Infrastructure: Cisco und Red Hat erweitern das Cisco ACI Policy Framework für den Einsatz in OpenStack-Umgebungen. Der Vorteil für Unternehmen: Sie profitieren von einer regelgesteuerten Automation in ihren Cloud-Umgebungen.
     
  • Intercloud: Als führender Anbieter von Open-Source-Technologien spielt Red Hat eine wichtige Rolle im Intercloud-Ecosystem von Cisco. Zusätzlich zu einer integrierten Infrastrukturlösung für Unternehmen aller Größen planen Cisco und Red Hat auch Carrier-Grade-Lösungen für Service-Provider, gedacht für die Cisco Evolved Services Platform, die Software- und Virtualisierungsplattform von Cisco für Hybrid Clouds. Darüber hinaus arbeiten Red Hat und Cisco auch bei OpenShift, der mit Auszeichnungen prämierten Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS)-Umgebung von Red Hat, und Storagetechnologien, einschließlich Ceph, zusammen.
