Munich, 17 October 2022 – Giesecke+Devrient (G+D) is proud to announce that the eCom Tokenizer solution has been recognized as a winner in the “Fraud and Security Innovation: Payment Tokenization Solution” category of the 2022 Juniper Future Digital Awards. The solution impressed the jury with its scalability and platform-agnostic approach.

Since 2008, leading market researcher for digital technology markets Juniper Research has been honoring companies for innovative solutions that have the potential to change their respective industry in the long term and offer target groups a decisive advantage. This year marks the third time in a row that G+D has received one of the prestigious awards, once again highlighting its importance and pioneering role in the field of digital payments. 

Juniper honored eCom Tokenizer by G+D and Netcetera in the “Fraud and Security Innovation: Payment Tokenization Solution” category, successfully prevailing over more than ten other solutions. The solution relies on network tokenization, a technology that converts sensitive card details into unique tokens – digital and encrypted aliases – so that card details never need to be stored by a merchant. This way private data is kept safe by encryption and is protected against fraud. Furthermore, the automatically updated payment card credentials facilitate a frictionless payment process. eCom Tokenizer combines highest levels of security with a seamless customer experience. The results: great customer satisfaction, increased sales, reduced security risks and higher payment card approval rates by the schemes.

A key advantage of eCom Tokenizer that factored into the Juniper jury’s decision-making is the solution’s system-independence. The single harmonized Application Programming Interface (API) integrates tokenization services of multiple schemes, which enormously reduces complexity and accelerates time to market. For example, a leading Australian G+D client uses the solution to provide businesses with a secure and frictionless payment solution for their customer care operations. Users benefit by providing their card details only once and make recurring payments effortlessly.
