Qualcomm setzt auf Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization als strategische Virtualisierungs-Plattform
„Nach Abschluss der formalen Evaluation von Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization haben wir die Lösung jetzt offiziell produktiv im Einsatz“, sagt Bob Gerling, IT-Engineer bei Qualcomm. „Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization ist der nächste logische Schritt unserer langjährigen technologischen Zusammenarbeit mit Red Hat und der Nutzung von Red Hat Enterprise Linux sowie der darin integrierten Virtualisierungstechnologie.“
Qualcomm verwendet Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.4 als Standard-Betriebssystem und nutzt darüber hinaus den darin integrierten KVM-Hypervisor, um Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.4 als Gast-Betriebssystem verwenden zu können. Diese virtuellen Instanzen werden mit den in Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization enthaltenen Management-Tools verwaltet.
