VNC and Collaboard agree on close integration of their solutions for digital teamwork

VNC and Collaboard cooperate on communication and collaboration tools

Zug, Switzerland, 22 March 2023 – The two Swiss IT companies VNC and Collaboard agreed on an intensive cooperation. It foresees the further development of the communication and collaboration applications of both companies into a highly integrated solution.

Mobile working, remote working and new work scenarios place high demands on digital collaboration within companies, but also between companies, partners and customers. For this new form of borderless digital teamwork, VNC and Collaboard closely combine their software solutions and thus create a communication and collaboration offering with a high functional breadth and depth for customers. With VNClagoon, VNC, leading developer of open source-based enterprise applications, has a modular software stack in its portfolio, whose modules range from messenger and e-mail to the video conferencing system VNCtalk and complex project management systems. Collaboard is an online whiteboard solution from the Swiss software company IBV, founded in 1981.

Collaboard can be used for digital collaboration in workshops, seminars or brainstorming sessions, but also for project planning, product design, process visualization or creating mind maps. Therefore, it helps companies to develop, plan, conceptualize and implement innovative ideas. Collaboard is independent from platforms, operating systems and devices. It is also both hosting and cloud agnostic and can therefore be hosted in one’s own data centre (on-premises) or in a cloud of own choice. Comprehensive security features such as 2-factor authentication, graded access rights and end-to-end 256-bit encryption ensure a high level of security and compliance with corresponding standards such as the GDPR. The digital whiteboard is available as a SaaS solution (Software-as-a-Service) in finely graduated functional scopes for different requirements.

In the first step of the cooperation, an user-friendly single sign-on will be implemented for both tools and the option to start the whiteboard directly from VNClagoon will be created. Further technical development stages include the option to directly edit VNClagoon documents in Collaboard and, vice versa, direct access to the Collaboard whiteboard from VNClagoon modules via a bidirectional interface. The technical cooperation is accompanied by joint sales and marketing activities to expand the customer and partner landscape.

“Collaboard is a kind of missing link for us in our range of solutions,” emphasises Andrea Wörrlein, managing director of VNC in Berlin and member of the board of VNC AG in Zug. “It allows us to fulfil our customers’ wishes for an integrated digital whiteboard, which they have been missing in VNClagoon until now. Collaboard is the best choice for this after intensive evaluation.”

“The way we collaborate has changed dramatically in recent years,” explains Michael Görög, Co-Founder and Head of Business Development at Collaboard. “Together with VNC we can now provide a comprehensive digital collaboration tool for the new challenging tasks.”
