Veridos provides access system technology for Munich Security Conference

Berlin, 16 February 2023 – Veridos is once again supplying the technological solution for access control at the Munich Security Conference (MSC), which will be held at the Hotel Bayerischer Hof from February 17 to 19, 2023. In addition to the eAccess system, which quickly and securely identifies visitors directly at the entrance, the concept also includes the access cards developed by Giesecke+Devrient (G+D).

Once again, a large number of high-ranking state and government representatives as well as important decision-makers from business and the global security community have announced their attendance at the 2023 conference. The event will focus on current security-related issues and challenges in global politics.

To identify participants at the admission controls, Veridos, a joint venture between Bundesdruckerei and G+D, provides a robust and updated version of the Veridos eAccess system. The company supplies the Munich Security Conference with state-of-the-art software that meets the latest requirements for system stability and security thanks to ongoing updates and extensive testing. The Veridos eAccess system verifies the participants’ identities based on remote readout of the secure chips embedded in the participants’ access cards in combination with their facial images.

As in previous years, G+D is supplying the access cards for the high-profile event. The badges are equipped with various security features such as optical variable ink and micro-symbols. The security and communication chipsets are supplied by NXP® Semiconductors, a world leader in secure connectivity solutions for embedded applications. The access authorizations, which are personalized using a thermal transfer process, enable verification even from a distance of several meters and can also be checked with RFID readers and smartphones if required.

“With our advanced technology and expertise in identification solutions, we meet the high demands of the Munich Security Conference,” explains Veridos CEO Marc-Julian Siewert. “The combination of G+D, NXP® Semiconductors and Veridos technologies provides a robust identification and access solution that allows participants of the conference to check in conveniently and securely.”
