Germany / Kentucky, USA, 28 March 2023 – IT service provider adesso is expanding its lottery business into the North American market for the first time: The consulting and software development company – headquartered in Germany and with around 60 other locations in Europe – becomes a member of the North American lottery association NASPL (North American Association of State and Provincial Lotteries). NASPL membership marks the starting point for the rollout of the technology and consulting portfolio to the U.S. and Canadian markets.
adesso’s offer is aimed at all lotteries in the United States and Canada. The North American market entry and the affiliation to NASPL as an associate member is a big step for adesso, the IT service provider that has so far mainly operated in Europe. With its pioneering lottery technology and consulting expertise, adesso is now targeting the North American continent.
Appointment of W. Bishop Woosley as advisor
adesso has engaged Bishop Woosley of Woosley Gaming Advisors (WGA) for the systematic distribution business in the USA and Canada. Woosley, an experienced consultant and industry insider, led the Lottery of Arkansas and served as president of NASPL prior to his consulting career. In 2020, the lottery expert was inducted into the US “Lottery Hall of Fame”. With Woosley and its Gaming Advisors team, adesso is bringing top-class consultants on board who know the lottery market in America from the ground up, have an excellent network here and specialise in introducing the latest products and innovations in this industry.

adesso has been working for lottery companies in Europe, North Africa and the Middle East for over two decades and has successfully completed numerous projects in the international gaming and lottery industry. Trustworthy: Certified IT service provider in the lottery industry
Since the beginning of 2022, adesso has also been certified according to the renowned Security Control Standard 2020 of the World Lottery Association (WLA) (WLA-SCS:2020). This makes the company one of the first software manufacturers in Germany to be able to offer this important security standard to its lottery customers. The World Lottery Association’s WLA-SCS:2020 (Level 2) standard is the hallmark of excellence in information, security and integrity measures in the industry. Level 2 contains a demanding catalogue of criteria as a certification level, which not only the lottery and sports betting operators in international business, but also their service providers and suppliers must meet.
Memberships at NASPL, WLA, EL
In addition to its brand new membership in NASPL, adesso is also a member of the European Lotteries (EL) and the World Lottery Association (WLA), the lobby of around 140 state-owned lottery companies worldwide, which organises the World Lottery Summit. Most recently in October 2022 in Vancouver, Canada, where adesso presented its highlights LotteryForce and adessoDraws to an interested international audience.
